So instead of writing a new paragraph on my paper, I decided it was better to give a shout-out. My dear friends, this evening I cut my own hair using my clippers. It’s a nice little 3/4” buzz cut. Unfortunately, I was not able to completely do the job on my own. I had to enlist the help of my dear friend Kirsten Leigh Awe(some) to come and trim my neck fuzz. Snaps for Sister Kirsten, if you would be so kind.
My final piece of homework that is due before I go on choir tour for Spring Break is a 3-page long book report for my Theology of Corporate Worship class. It’s on a book that analyzes some of the most popular contemporary praise and worship songs over the past 20-ish years in America. The syllabus has absolutely no specifics listed with regards as to what to write on, it’s simply a book report.
Sounds easy, right?
Well, if I haven’t told you already in person, I might as well tell you now…I don’t own the book, nor is there a copy in the library for me to borrow so I can read it.
But, as our good friend Bob Marley tells us, everything is gonna be alright.
Why?
I found a nice little review through Google, which has given me enough insight on the book so I can write my little book report.
Want to know something even more depressing?
I know for a fact that I will probably have more insight on this book than some of the people in my class.
Okay. Let’s be honest. I haven’t lead the absolute worst life ever, I’m pretty content with where I am and the blessings God has given me. But there are some people’s children who annoy the Bejesus out of me when they complain about how “difficult” it is to live their lives when their parents are paying for everything.
I paid for my own phone and my own computer. My parents bought a car for me to drive; I don’t own it, I pay the insurance on it, and I pay for all of the gas. Any books I have purchased for my classes have come out of pocket, not using my parent’s credit cards. Oh, and I have to pay back all of the student loans that have been taken out to get me through my 4 years so far, and 2 more years of college. That’s scratching 6 figures right there. Even better—I’ll be working a job that won’t make a third of that in a year.
Do you hear me complaining? Not outside of this post.
Do you think I want to hear you complaining? Not in the least bit.
End of rant.
how much I love rain? Especially at night. Because it’s dark and (usually) calm, and the rain just seems to fall. Not to mention the smell that comes along with a rain. It takes all of the other smells (like the cow poop) and washes it away, leaving a nice, clean and refreshed smell. Agree?
I’ve been an avid follower of Fyeahthespianpeacock for a while now. Every time I see the memes, I find whatever the topic to be so ridiculously true it’s insane. For a while I’ve been thinking about how I probably would never have any sort of thespian experience that I would be able to come up with one on my own…until now.

I was having a nice conversation with a basketball player in my Tuesday night class. We were talking about a few different things, I brought up Spring Weekend (obviously…that’s where my brain has been for the past 2-ish weeks). He asked me about Improv, specifically when Mission IMPROVable came to Concordia last year. He asked if I was one of the audience members who went up on stage with the group, and I told him yeah. Then we went on talking and he was like “I thought I recognized you from something. Between that and Spring Weekend, I’m like a fan.”
Jaw. Dropped.
Mind. Blown.
“Meet the Iscariots” What a wonderful one-act. Thanks to Ladd Wendelin for writing it and Rory Wendelin for directing it.
Performed in April 2011 for the CUNE One Act Festival.
Sometimes, I say I’m doing homework, but I’m actually wasting time on Tumblr and Facebook. Motivation is hard.
This is a live video of a Bald Eagle nest near Decorah, Iowa. It was set up a few years ago, and the eagles have been coming back to the same nest for quite a few years. The first egg of the year was laid on February 17th, and the second should be coming shortly, with hopefully more to follow. Love it.
